Who We Are
The American Physical Therapy Association District of Columbia (APTADC) is a professional organization representing almost 500 members who are physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students. APTADC is a chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association, a national professional organization representing more than 100,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education.
Mission
The mission of the APTADC is to promote advocacy, service, and dissemination of knowledge to its membership, the profession, and the community at large.
Vision
To establish the District of Columbia as a center for physical therapy excellence: through self-regulation, education, professional support, research, commitment to DC public health, recognition of professionals, and maximization of membership in the Association.
Goals
To improve communication with members and the general public, provision of professional resources, and promotion of this organization’s name with the creation of an executive director position and increased use of resources available for printed and internet-based communication.
